If you have any interest in American horror - maybe movies in general - you HAVE to go see Sinners (preferably in a theater, if you can) The whole thing is amazing, but one sequence in particular is one of the most beautiful and transcendent things I have ever seen on film. Holy shit. Holy shit!

In my experience this is already happening Several of my old writing teacher colleagues have phased out long-term process writing for in-class essays on pen and paper. No idea how you're supposed to teach writing anything that would take longer than 50 minutes to compose, though.

I try not to think about anyone else; it gets bogged down in endless hypotheticals who might love or hate it, & I can't know whether they're even real. My (many) mental health issues are almost solely chemical. I've been very lucky to have great friends, a supportive family, & consistent access to mental health professionals, & I STILL spent a week in the hospital last year when my SSRIs pooped out. Restrictions on SSRIs are a death sentence.

I've been hearing responses to stories like this that hover around "teachers need to teach kids to identify accurate sources!" and I unfortunately think that's a well-meaning head of the blame-teachers-for-society's-ills hydra. One teacher can't fix this. This is the job of entire school districts.
