Well done! Such an incredible writer. The Wee Free Men series and the Weird Sisters books are amazing. I started a closed Facebook group called The Calm Weavers. The idea of people having a super power to defuse conflict is so appealing right now.

@suw.bsky.social and I explored Vanne in Brittany. It has a stunning medieval quarter with colourful timber-framed buildings. We have thoroughly enjoyed Brittany. So many interesting sites and beautiful countryside.

Even with the air conditioning, we have a puddle of cats in this heat. Grabbity and Copurrnicus don’t always share space well.

Our cats - Copurrnicus and Grabbity - escape the heat and are splayed out on our bed chilling in the AC.

Let the 4th of July grilling and smoking begin. Maple citrus smoked salmon. It’s a three-day process of brining and such, but it is oh so worth it.

Londoners, there is a webpage for you to see where your nearest "cool spaces" are when the extreme heat hits - places with water, air-conditioning & shade. Have a look and spread the word, especially to those who may need this but might not think to look for it: apps.london.gov.uk/cool-spaces/

Brilliant. Thanks for sharing. I knew about Frog Find - works great my SE/30 with a BlusSCSI v2 and Wifi. This is a great resource.

I can use the Internet on it and have for a long time via a DaynaPort Ethernet card. I wanted WiFi so I could access my AppleTalk server and printer wirelessly. I love writing on it. No distractions. I love WordPerfect 3 for the Mac. Perfection.

It's brilliant! I've got it running on Docker on OMV (OpenMediaVault) 8. It's running on a Pi5 with 8GB of memory, with two 22TB drives in an external striped RAID case. Immich has good face recognition and a dedupe identifier.

In policy and pronouncements, Trump and his MAGA movement are virulently anti-immigrant, militantly misogynistic and openly white supremacist. They aren’t solving problems in the US. They are creating new ones.

Storage Settings in Tahoe gives me a good breakdown of what is taking up space. Up until I upgrades to 26.3, I had 32.5GB of apps, 1.96 GB of Xcode, 5.29 GB of Docs and 5.14 GB of photos. 145GB of System Data, which once ballooned to 170GB!

000 0

Mr. Anderson @kevglobal.bsky.social · 13/02/2026

Trying that. I was just trying to use the CLI to disable local snapshots, but the command doesn't seem to work in Tahoe. It's running that command now. When I was running commands like this a couple of days ago, I did have 21GB of Spotlight files. The default Spotlight in Tahoe indexes _everything_

Thanks, Gordon. All of those are deleted, and I've turned off automatic TM backups, as some people have suggested, which seems contrary to the idea of a 'set it and forget it' incremental backup. And I'm backing up to my OMV NAS, which has 33TB left on it.

A two panel line drawn cartoon. First panel, the internet in 1969. One figure says "Let's create a distributed network so it can survive a nuclear winter". The second panel titled the internet in 2021 a different figure says "Let's host half of it in one company and see how it goes"

The reporting on Charlie Kirk’s killer in the UK & US highlights again how fundamentally ill equipped mainstream media is to report on political violence in the digital age. They do not know anything about online far right meme culture & it’s starting to do real harm. #r4today

Yes, this makes sense of what so many outlets are calling ‘incoherent’. The Groypers have their own cultural language. Moreover, friends of ours in the UK say their kids knew Charlie Kirk from TikTok. What does that mean for politics here?
