Taking accountability—REALLY taking accountability, is to accept that not everyone is going to forgive you. You aren't doing it for forgiveness. You're doing it because it's the right thing to do. I know it's discouraging when you feel damned if you do, damned if you don't, but you still have to.

This reminds me of something I saw from a CSA survivor on Tumblr a while ago. We are so obsessed with punishment we get distracted from what we should really be focusing on: prevention. We care more about punishing criminals than we care about preventing crime from occurring in the first place.

About 90% of the time someone makes hating children their personality, what they really hate are permissive parents who don't raise their children properly, but they'd rather direct their hate towards the more vulnerable, oppressed group they no longer understand because they're grumpy old fucks.

Kids need/deserve traumatic films. Films that show death or lasting consequences that aren't resolved almost instantly. Fear, anger, grief and frustration should be part of kids movies. Kids arent stupid, they feel big emotions just like adults, they deserve to see those experiences reflected back.
