Enjoyed two very brilliantly funny gigs in 48 hours this week by the respective @alandaviescomic.bsky.social and Nish Kumar, at the wonderful Leeds Playhouse. Lucky to have such great venues up here that comedians and performers love coming to.

I’m a backup caregiver, a teller of stories, a giver of snacks. Also, kids ask too many questions for their parents to answer them all

Did you know that before this World Cup, the resale value of tickets was capped at the face value of the ticket. FIFA did away with it this year, and set up THE resale site where they take 30% of the price of the ticket sale for themselves. 15% from the buyer and 15% from seller. #FIFAisCorrupt

I sincerely hope Stokes is going on his own terms and he's not being 'nudged' out as Key & co did with Jimmy. This is sad news in the context of English cricket. Stokes should never have been dropped for the second test. The ECB have a lot to answer for. Appalling handling of the last few weeks.

This Somali referee deportation is so grim. Embarrassing for Americans and the shameless dolts at FIFA. Maybe he could come and referee in the Prem. On the other land, eleven hours in US customs must be preferable to a seven minute and completely non-sensical PGMOL VAR review.

‘There were bad moments and bad behaviour’: Alan Davies on booze, ego, comedy and cancer
At 60, Davies is less of a hell-raiser than he once was – but a great deal happier. He talks about the excesses of the 90s, the sexual abuse that made him such an ‘angry boy’, his recent bladder cancer, and fatherhood
