I was also getting a lot of John Carpenter energy from it, including the score.

They screwed up royally with making the 2015 ABC Muppet show that was sharply written and modern and used the talk show/variety show as the wrapper for character work, but dumped it on network TV vs streaming. We didn't deserve it.

Just got out of a screening of Buddy, and I was absolutely blown away at how inventive and unnerving it is. Highly recommend checking it out before it leaves theaters.

Our latest experience in the Poppy Playtime universe is real! My team put a ton of work into this premiere moment at the FGS Showcase at Gamescom, and I'm really proud of us. : )

Dolly Parton on trans rights. God I loved her.

When looking at the issue of anti-trans legislation, Parton said that “I try to get into the human element of it.” Pointing out that she has people in her life who identify as queer and trans, the 77-year-old star said it was important to hear what they’re saying.

“I know and love them all, and I do not judge. And I just see how broken-hearted they get over certain things and I know how real they are,” she said. “I know how important this is to them. That’s who they are. They cannot help that any more than I can help being Dolly Parton, you know, the way people know me. If there’s something to be judged, that is God’s business. But we are all God’s children and how we are is who we are.”

This weekend I screened #PacificRim for a bunch of friends, which has become a bit of a tradition for me at this point for my birthday. I love sharing this movie with people and ranting about how it’s a lovingly crafted sentimental film about how our connections to one another can save the world.

It really goes some places emotionally, and I was left shook by the end, which is something I was not expecting from the start of it.

I’m so thankful for the Moguri Mod, which brings a ton of QoL things to this game. It treats it with more respect and love than SE seems interested in giving it, and makes it look and feel way more contemporary.

The anime sadly does NOT do the series justice visually - we are hoping for a new adaptation eventually that can capture the dynamic action of the comics, bc early 2000s digital anime on a tv budget is pretty rough to look at in 2026.

Wild pull from them - growing up in Texas as a weeb in the 90s and forming an anime club in high school kept me sane. Also do they not know that Funimation and ADV films, major players in localizing anime for decades, were lone star institutions??

TLDR: don't believe everything you see shared online by rumor mill accounts claiming to have 'sources', especially when they don't even share their source 9 times out of 10.

I wish it were all the amazing people I know who made the TWAU1 what it was getting to return to make 2, but that is by and large not the case. Imagine having worked on something you were super proud of, only to not get invited back to work on the sequel, while people lie about it online...

There's a lot of misinformation flying around about who is working on The Wolf Among Us 2 and it's really frustrating seeing people make stuff up as part of an 'it's happening!' narrative. : (

A lot of how people criticize film through this 'plot mechanics is the only thing that matters' lens I think can be attributed to Content Creators shaping the dialogue around media analysis - they approach a movie like one would review a DVD player or a cellphone.

This is outstanding news, and something you don't see very often. Supernatural is the best home workout solution out there IMO. I'm so glad to see the devs and coaches able to resurrect this experience, and hoping it means that it comes to other ecosystems so they can bring it to larger audiences.

Also fwiw something like the ROG Ally is thankfully still in stock and in a more reasonable pricepoint right now and basically has Steam Deck level hardware and comes with Windows - if you were considering getting a PC handheld anytime soon.

000

Allen Ortega @kenjisalk.bsky.social · 01/06/2026

Yep if you have Steam on it you should be able to run it that way - the mod supports linux (Steam Deck runs on it): sites.google.com/view/moguri-...

Allen Ortega @kenjisalk.bsky.social · 01/06/2026

Absolutely! The Switch version is fine (I assume iOS the same build), but If you can, the best way to play the game is on PC with the Moguri Mod, which makes the game look jaw dropping and adds a host of other options and updates. It can be installed very easily on Steam Deck or other PC handhelds.

For both power and form factor, the later Retroid Pocket (5 or 6) is the brass ring unless you really care about Dual Screen functionality (which then go for the Ayn Thor).

The power struggle around the production is legendary in how it let to diverting from what both general audiences and lynch sickos wanted, but the movie and s3 give the sickos a lot to dine on. The parallels between Twin Peaks and Neon Genesis Evangelion is honestly staggering :p

Dorohedoro is the coolest anime that feels engineered to appeal to aging anime sickos like me who were into the wackadoo grindhouse stuff of the late 80s/early 90s.
