That’s not quite fair - it IS arson, and it doesn’t do anything useful. It’s ok to not want that kind of thing. It’s difficult to keep a broad movement together if people aren’t allowed to be annoyed about their bins getting burned for no reason. Not at all like justifying a murder in any way.

It sticks with me because this dynamic is so tragic - the splintering of those on the left. As a liberal, I feel frustrated to be lumped in with those who have consistently failed to treat the rise of fascism with the dire urgency it requires, but I think I see why it happens.

My bet is that we see a LOT of activity from ICE at voting stations at the midterms. I’m hearing brown families have been hiding in Minneapolis regardless of immigration status. If you can’t harass people out from voting you can instigate violence at select polls so folks can’t vote in a timely way.
