The player who blew up at you before, suddenly calls you out for bragging about your victory. You take exception to this and defend yourself from this kind of behavior. You have been targeted by this player for a while now and you're sick of just ignoring it. This treatment isn't right.

No apology comes. You shrug it off and continue your enjoyment of your hobby. In another adjacent hobby, you have also accomplished something you had been trying to do for years, and it finally happened. You're proud of your accomplishment and share it with the community.

The event runners notice this and issue the player a stern warning about his behavior. Your interaction with them has been nothing but professional and cordial and to have them hate you so openly has left a bad impression on you. Via the event organizer, you ask for an apology from the player.

However, after the event, you notice the other player and you want to make it known you have no hard feelings towards them and they played a great game. The player screams at you that they don't want to talk to you and they don't ever want to see you, then leaves.

Like the past encounters, you win against them. The player is knocked out of the tournament and their championship streak comes to an end. You also end up winning the tournament and become the reigning champ of your Warhammer league. It's a great accomplishment for you and this fun little hobby.

There's another player in this community who is also good at this game. At some events, they win mini-tournaments and come back as champions to defend their streak. This other player takes any loss very hard. When things are not going their way, they get visibly and audibly frustrated.

Imagine for a moment: You find a niche corner of a community where they play a variety of a certain type of game. For shiggles, we'll say it's Warhammer. You love Warhammer, and this community sets up a regular schedule where a bunch of people gather to play Warhammer together twice a week.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA It can't be done to the newer carriers. The volume taken up by the electrical cables that run power from below up to the flight deck is smaller than the volume of ducting that used to pipe steam to the catapults. There's no room. This will take two years to "study".
