I worry about his shooting and overall offensive role, but Ausar Thompson is so good defensively that $31M AAV is probably fair. I think he'll return good value on that contract, especially so if there's any kind of offensive improvement.

Definitely. There are worse risks to take out there than Thompson. He was 3rd in DPOY voting last year and he made the all-defense first team. One of the best defenders in the world. What he really needs to do is fix that free throw shot. The rest is gravy for him.
