Texas recorded the largest number of book bans during the 2025-2026 school year (over 8,100), surpassing Florida (over 3,200), due to the impact of a censorial Texas law, SB13, which bans broad categories of books in schools. Florida had been No. 1 for three consecutive years. #BannedBooks

Senate Banking just launched the Trumpflation Tracker. The affordability crisis is not a “hoax” like Donald Trump says. See for yourself how much more you’re paying because of Trump’s failed economic agenda
Trumpflation Tracker. Cumulative inflation since Dec. 2024: 5.2%, approximately $3,388 more for the average household. Real wage growth since start of Iran War: -0.7%. Wages aren’t keeping up with Trump’s inflation. 30-year mortgage rate up from 5.99% before the war to 7.6%, or $4,330 more per year for a typical household. Household debt, Q1 ’25 to Q2 ’26: +$56B. Families going into more debt just to get by. Total cost to American borrowers of Trump’s broken promise to cap credit card interest rates: $94.9B. Share of each extra dollar of income going to household debt: 52¢. Take-home income up $109/month since 2022; debt payments up $57. Cost of Living Basket Since Dec. 2024: Electricity +12.7%, approximately $222 more for the average household. Rent +5.1%, approximately $256 more. Gasoline +43.7%, approximately $758 more.
