Studies do show that Tetris is helpful in PTSD treatment after the fact not just before it develops, but others' comments about treatments for anything are really just never useful.

Your regular reminder that exposure to pathogens such as harmful bacteria and viruses is not the same as exposure to good bacteria. Like drinking a probiotic yoghurt is not the same as drinking sewage. 📢

The way every AI user says "everyone is using it", reminds me of when you catch someone doing something bad. Caught someone lying, cheating, speeding, etc.? What do they say? "Well everyone does it."

Tech companies simply can't overcome these fundamental reasons NOT to use their AI products Ethics/society: - AI models are largely built on stolen labor - Cognitive health suffers with extended use of AI - AI destroys communities, careers and crafts that drive our culture and society for profit

This story is from the US but our need for universal pharmacare is also evident. People cannot afford their medications. This is only going to get worse with our aging population and increasing disability. Nobody deserves to suffer or die because there are roadblocks to accessing their medication.

Today is one of those days where everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. Fun stuff, like my dishwasher draining dirty dish water into my cupboards.

I literally have nothing due and no exams for almost four weeks. I am so glad that I start work next week. I knew a reduced course load was not going to be fun for me. Granted, I am still glad that I already had the courses done and now I have time for research.

I really really really miss education before the explosion of AI. I miss when it wasn't acceptable to say "I generated this diagram with AI and I didn't check it so I'm not sure if it's right" and continuing to teach it anyway. I miss when slideshows involved interpretations and not AI summaries.

I mean I did get the sense knocked out of me in the bathroom as a young trans guy just for being trans so I wholeheartedly understand where they’re coming from even if it’s not the “norm”. It’s a valid worry.

That is a whole thing. I would have to pre-cut a whole bunch regularly because there are days I can't really do things like hold scissors which are usually the days I use the air fryer to make things easier... sigh. 😅 Probably not the most important complaint in the scheme of things.

I love it when I download a file from sharepoint and it's missing all of the tracked changes and comments. So I go back into it in my browser and suddenly they don't appear in the document there either, just shows who made the last changes and when.

I ordered a new adjustable desk which was delivered today. The metal frame was fine but now that I'm at the actual desk top I remember why I don't like putting furniture together. I keep telling myself it will be worth it. 😩

Please wear helmets with the buckle done up when you use ATVs, bicycles, motorbikes, e-scooters, regular scooters, roller blades, etc. Helmets only work if they stay on your head. While they do prevent brain injuries, they reduce the severity by protecting your skull.

Otherwise, there's likely to be important information missing that is never captured in those boxes at all. I really feel the issue comes down to how do I effectively ask questions, make space, and actively listen and follow up on that versus how do I illicit the answers I am expecting to hear.

Kaiden @kbjdy.bsky.social · 20/08/2026
I don't think patient interactions are really about boxes. Checklists are good for organizing thoughts and confirming we thought about the relevant details but ultimately the conversation is about the patient and their needs. I need to know how to talk with them, not reduce them to an algorithm.

Kaiden @kbjdy.bsky.social · 19/08/2026
There needs to be an opportunity to learn how to communicate, not check off a box!

Kaiden @kbjdy.bsky.social · 19/08/2026
Yeah it's really weird how not assuming gets totally mixed up with making big assumptions. I think back to my very first practice lab where we were told to ask patient pronouns when creating a new profile. It seemed to go so badly the next week they told us we'd never have to do that again. Um??
130
Kaiden @kbjdy.bsky.social · 19/08/2026
I personally like focusing on making the space safe in general and leaving it up to the person to decide. “Hey my name is Kaiden, my pronouns are he/him, it’s nice to meet you!” The context clues are often there as you mentioned, and making a big deal out of it feels weird from both sides.

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.
