Yes, you are correct. She did have several holiday homes but only this one on the Island. Her youngest daughter Beatrice acquired Carisbrooke Castle there too keeping her company in widowhood. Osborne has a strange vibe, it's where she died. Gardens are stunning but the house is so dark and sombre.

Todays walk. Needles and Lighthouse off the Isle of Wight. Still active. Built 1859, designed by James Walker for Trinity House, replacing the previous lighthouse of 1785. It had a helipad constructed in 1987. After 140 years, in 1994 it became fully automated. #architecture #lighthouse #history
