🎉 Congratulations to Research Fellow Cyrus Sundar Singh on receiving the Matthieu da Costa Award from Ontario Black History Society! His work bridging communities and preserving stories from Africville to Owen Sound exemplifies the power of cross-cultural storytelling.
Of all the significant moments across my academi-creative journey from Africville to Emancipation to the Door of No Return, this one digs deep and feeds my soul. I feel humbled, empowered, and embraced by intersecting communities of colour who have entrusted me to carry forward their stories.
