Behind it are two Celtic crosses in a misty graveyard, with the ruins of a castle fading into fog under a cloudy green‑grey sky. Thick red liquid drips from the top edge of the poster. The text reads: “GOTHICA Presents Irish Gothic, Lucy O’Hora. Purity. Shame. Memory. Zoom, Thursday 18th June (6.00pm–7.30pm BST). Email or tweet for link: @GOTHICA_UOB, UOBGOTHICA@GMAIL.COM. If you are interested in historicising, contextualising, or rewriting #truecrime, join @lizzieseal.bsky.social and me to reflect on ways in which true crime narratives are deployed! The CFP is live and the proposals can be submitted via this form: forms.gle/U1hHhpWQh9u8... The deadline is 16 May!

We would like to create a platform to discuss various ways of historicising, contextualising, and rewriting true crime across the media and further understanding regarding the ways in which true crime narratives are deployed.
