This is a Shamrock ☘️ , symbol of Ireland and St. Patrick's Day. This is a four leaf clover 🍀, a symbol of luck. So in honour of ☘️, you may be in for a bit of 🍀! Read on... I may not be Irish, but my name (Kathleen) and my birthday are, so I have a particular fondness for all things 1/4

A group of Ukrainian settlers near Cardiff, Alberta in the 1910s. 📸Glenbow Archives CU1103510 #SlavaUkraini

The photograph is a black-and-white image depicting a large group of people, likely a family or community gathering, posed together outdoors. The setting appears to be a rural area, with trees and branches visible in the background, suggesting a natural, possibly forested environment. The group consists of men, women, and children, arranged in two or three rows, with some seated and others standing behind them.
The men are dressed in formal attire typical of the late 19th or early 20th century, including suits, vests, ties, and hats such as bowlers or flat caps. Many of the men have mustaches, which was common during that era. The women are wearing long dresses with high necks and long sleeves, some adorned with hats or flowers, indicative of the fashion of the same period. One woman in the center is holding a baby dressed in a long, white gown.
The children in the front row are also dressed in period-appropriate clothing, including hats and simple shirts or dresses.

While I am glad to get my office and monitors back, I'm sad to see our guest go, and a little jealous I couldn't go with her to Banff and Whistler. I do miss the mountains! She even stripped the bed this morning before we left (really early) for the airport. Definitely a guest to have visit again!

Mixed feelings about leaving Chicago. 1. I don't feel it was long enough 2. Hallmark channel (we don't have it, so fun catching up with cheesy Xmas movies) 3. Apparently it's been a bad week & chaos at home..not in a rush to deal with that. 4. Could use another day just to myself. Until next time!
