Here is the talk I gave on the atom at Harvard...! It's a showcasing of my book-in-progress, interrogating the paradox of the atom in nature. As a dematerialized materialist, I argue that the atom is a quilting point of the ideal into nature. www.youtube.com/watch?v=neEO...

I’m speaking next month at the New School on AI & Psychoanalysis! I couldn’t be more humbled to be included alongside these leading thinkers and artists grappling with the growth — in spite of much concerted resistance — of AI in our daily lives. NYC, I hope to see you there! 🤖💭 March 23rd at 5pm.

l've finished teaching my class on the void to a very bright group of spirited beings! The void found at the heart of being, the void that promises an escape, the void that we weave into our very subjectivity: it is the void that we find at the heart of being, thought, and freedom. 🚀 Thanks to GCAS!

I’m very excited to share that I’ll be teaching a course titled, “The Void,” this September at GCAS. There is an early bird discount available now for auditors..! 🚀 We’ll read Hegel & Badiou with support from Lucretius & Dolar in investigating the paradoxical potential of the void. More below…

My new essay: "Intelligence Is Always Artificial." Can intelligence ever be natural? Per Hegel, intelligence is that which *denaturalizes.* It is a self-alienation that operates around a subjectifying gap. AI, in its immediacy, isn't *artificial enough* to be called intelligent.

Thinking about the pull of absence and the openness of the void, I find myself returning to @katherineveritt.bsky.social's essay—A Throw of the Dice Through Space—in itself a wonderful act of placing, a gesture toward the other: to say yes; to fall together. socratesonthebeach.com/katherine-ev...

I gave a talk on Hegelian space today, and was SO pleased to receive the q: what is digital space? As I’ve been using Bluesky to reflect on the digital… my initial answer to this q, is that it is an extension of spirited space with a material excess, a space of feedback & feedback loops…

On Monday, I join the Philosophy Portal to ask what space can teach us about the Lacanian real, particularly the pre-symbolic real of nature. Per the Chiesa/Žižek debate on "animistic" motion, I argue that with space-itself we can answer the provocative question: does the real move? 💥

To Bachelard, the realist puts all of reality into little envelopes, localizing the world in space. "Multiplier les enveloppes autour d'une réalité, c'est multiplier les assurances de sa possession... c'est la fixer solidement dans l'espace." From "L'experience de l'espace" (1937)

What is digital space? This is the question I'm asking for an upcoming talk at King's College. I'm wondering what Hegel would say of the digital, as an extension of spirit. In my mind, this is what the digital looks like. From the kitsch film, 'The Thirteenth Floor' (1999).

I think this is rly the point, actually: let’s keep Bluesky the place where we talk about Bluesky. The place for reflexive inquiry as to WHAT we are all doing online anyway. A search for the libidinal, economic, political, insidious, and, yes, the potential of the digital common space.

Thinking of the “digital space” more and more these days, and I have made Bluesky the dumping ground for my hysterical reflections on this space itself. Today’s New Yorker cartoon was spot on for me. I’ll say it again… how can we reimagine the digital commons?

Spoke with a few ppl last night at the book party in Manhattan about the Bluesky migration. Two thoughts: 1) We can’t accept that we’ve privatized the commons. Bluesky is still a mega company standing to profit off of our data. This is an outstanding problem. 2) If this rly is a left wing migration…
