Saw this crumpled-up notice on the street this morning that my neighbors can't have a "STATE LAW - STOP FOR PEDESTRIANS WITHIN CROSSWALK" standee. I always love when one of those is about because pointing at one is just about the only way to get drivers to not run you over sometimes.

I don’t like Pete or anything but it’s absolutely bizarre that you can write in your book that you discriminated against someone explicitly because of their sexuality alone in your book and not get run out of the Democratic Party.

In her book, Harris wrote that Buttigieg "would have
been an ideal partner if I were a straight white man."
She noted "we were already asking a lot of America: to accept a woman, a Black woman, a Black woman
married to a Jewish man. Part of me wanted to say,
Screw it, let's just do it. But knowing what was at
stake, it was too big of a risk."

thrilling stuff here
Ballot paper size

During the 2026 municipal elections, at least eleven municipalities will be experimenting with a smaller ballot paper (A3 format). These are Alphen aan den Rijn, Boekel, Gouda, 's-Hertogenbosch, Leiden, Meierijstad, Midden-Delfland, Nijmegen, Noordoostpolder, Soest and Tynaarlo.[5]

The municipality of Borne previously participated in the experiment, but decided not to participate in these elections due to concerns about the number of invalid votes and the reduced recognizability of candidates.

Both the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations and the Electoral Council remain positive about the experiment, which should contribute to a simpler and faster voting and counting process.[6][7]

Congratulations to Seattle’s Mayor-elect

!

Seattle voters made their voices heard: they want a new kind of politics — one that rejects corporate PAC money and delivers for working people. From one Mayor-elect to another, wishing you the best. Seattle is in great hands.

Monday drop. WILSON LEADS FOR THE FIRST TIME ALL ELECTION! It's neck and neck heading into the final count! She leads by 91 votes! Only about 10,000 ballots remain, per reporting from @kromandavid.bsky.social. Cured ballots from the weekend will be counted tomorrow.

BOOM. Wilson closes the gap, with many more ballots left. This is a tremendous result for her. She trails Harrell by just 1.9% and 4,300 votes. There are many more ballots remaining than at this point in the primary count.

Wilson lost ground on the Thursday drop in the primary, actually doing worse on that day's returns (51.1%) than today's (51.8%). May repeat here, but there's not much to go on with limited transparency on what kind/time of votes were counted today.

Thursday drop. Wilson trails Harrell by 9,908, 5.7%. The gap begins to close. We are apparently STILL not into a drop box sample yet, or only including some drop box data. There's a TON of votes expected to lean Wilson out there.

Katherine Mitchell @katherinemitchell.bsky.social · 05/11/2025
Well. That's not a shift to Wilson. She did lose ground on one day of the primary count, but needs something dramatic now. 90k to 100k votes left, Wilson trails by 11,183. She needs at least 55% of the remaining votes.
Wilson now trails by -8.19%.

Katie Wilson gained 8.89% between Election Night and the final results in the primary. To feel good about her overcoming the general gap and having a similar performance, you'd want her to be about 4.5% behind or better after today's drop. (She actually LOST ground on the Thursday drop in August.)
Katie Wilson's lead by day in the 2025 Seattle mayoral election

Election Night: 1.48% in the primary, -7.18% in the general
Wednesday: 4.89% in the primary
Thursday: 4.30% in the primary
Friday: 9.20% in the primary
Final: 10.37% in the primary

Here's a look at the raw numbers in the Seattle mayoral contest, with 2021 for scale. Harrell has lost a lot of ground from his 2021 win. Wilson gained 17,221 votes more than Harrell between the primary and general. That would be more than enough to eliminate the 8,319 vote gap here.
Vote totals: Primary election night, primary election final, general election night, general election final.

Katie Wilson	44,457	98,562	53,767
Bruce Harrell	43,160	80,043	62,086
Other	8,596	15,624	580
2021 Harrell	33,759	69,612	84,975	155,294
