I have been laughing at this for 15 minutes. This is proof people know nothing about Africa. 2026 Egypt alone could solo 1939 Europe, much less all of 2026 Africa.

PC gaming is cooked. Nvidia is effectively pulling out of PC hardware and has been for almost a year. I hope this bubble pops and Nvidia is forced to face the music.

The second song on their debut album is literally about systemic police brutality and resisting the cops as an institution. I don't get how libs or repubs could listen to RAtM and not realize it when the lyrics clearly spell it out in every song...

010

KatherineFtw @katherineftw.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Wait. This happens a lot? Like, have people not listened to RAtM? This must be how older folk feel when people don't get the true meaning of songs like Fortinate Son.

The only thing I think that could turn people off is that it controls like Ace Combat 4 rather than Ace Combat 7.

010

KatherineFtw @katherineftw.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

Just spent the past three hours playing Ace Combat 8. It runs surprisingly well for me, what with it having such high requirements on the store page. At 1440p high preset, I've had zero issues running the game.

120

KatherineFtw @katherineftw.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Got Ace Combat 8, just to play the copy of Ace Combat 0 that comes with the pre-order. Considering the hardware requirements for AC8, I'll probably not touch it for a while since I'm not sure I'll be able to run it consistently well.

Like, I listen to the Alt2K station of SiriusXM once every couple of months when I am really bored and I'm not even sure XM stations count as radio. FM/AM is NPR, Religious shit, or over-40 people music and nothing else. lol

The British military is so laughable, that all this hubub is frankly ridiculous. If Britian wanted to be "prepared for war" like they claim, they'd have a whole different defense strategy than the one being advocated for and employed.

030

KatherineFtw @katherineftw.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Even if you ignore everything but weapons, even logistics like western militaries like to do these days, Britain fucking sucks. What are you going to roll into battle with? An Ajax? The new Challenger upgrade package that stresses the hull so badly that everything breaks?

120

KatherineFtw @katherineftw.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Like. For a state to survive a war, you need for your people to *want* to fight in said war. You typically do this by making your state appeal to the people with things like healthcare, infrastructure, welfare, ETC. Britain does not do this, so you've already failed step 0.

140

KatherineFtw @katherineftw.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

No, it's even worse. The "fancy toys" aren't even that fancy nor even all that good. Britain is so adverse to spending money that by every meaningful metric of state surviveability that I'm pretty sure if a (non-nuclear) war broke out tomorrow, Britain would get steamrolled.

Sitting around a Discord server, waiting on a second opinion for a 1 million word web serial called Stray Cat Strut. I was reading it as it came out a few years ago, then fell behind and dropped it. There is a semi-negitive review on the top of the review page, so I don't know if I should try it.
