This week is Good Work week championed by authorities such as Manchester and London, shame that the budget forgot to mention of the importance of good work to support people back into employment and good health. The growing number of Good Work employers need to remind them more often.

The UK government claimed that "it is going further and faster to reform our approach to procurement so that it can shape markets and manage demand." We hope so - the Government should take the lead in making Real Living Wages and Good Employment a default condition for all public service contracts.

This is an interesting idea, & would make our system a bit more like the way it works in much of Europe, where you get a % of your previous income when you become unemployed, but with a time limit (basically,more generous safety net than our system, but for a shorter time) www.gov.uk/government/c...
