Depends which child. Number 3 is Ghostbusters and Sonic. Number 2 pretty much moved to Warhammer models, but has non-lego Halo. Number 1- a bit older and currently here with his girlfriend - Star Wars and Lord of the Rings models dumped outside their room waiting for someone to move it to the shed.

Exactly! Things have changed my sister and I inherited our cousin's box of random Lego bricks which then got passed on to our younger cousins. Now it's specific sets like sculptures which sit gathering dust on shelves.

We weren't really a theme park kind of family - apart from this. I can remember saving entry tokens off rice crispies packs as it was soooo expensive to get in! They all loved Lego and still have quite a few sets. These days mostly stored in a shed in the garden.

Legoland (Windsor) magic! A photo taken on number 1 child's birthday in 2009 when he would have been 8 and his little brothers were 4. They did love a trip to a Legoland - sadly for them we live in Cornwall so we were not regular visitors.

Stonehenge and Glastonbury Tor. Right next to each other. Happy #StandingStoneSunday
Colour photo of a Lego model of Stonehenge with lego Glastonbury Tor behind it. Taken in 2009 on a birthday trip to Legoland in Windsor for eldest child. He's now 25 and would probably still be up for going there, or preferably the one in Denmark.

Here's a lovely sunny #TombTuesday pic taken on very hot walk near Pamplona in Spain to see the Dólmenes de Artajona just a few weeks ago.
Remains of a passage tomb.

My Google pics found this when I asked it to search my photo library for a #StandingStoneSunday contribution. Taken in 2011 it's the Runstenskullen or The Rune Stone Hill in Lund, Sweden. This is a collection of C10th rune stones from Skåne.
A colour photo of a a grassy mound which is edged by 6 standing stones. My family are looking at the runes engraved on one of the stones.

A #StandingStoneSunday that's more a #TombTuesday cry for help. This is stone 1 of Mougau-Bihan allee couverte in Brittany. I can't see engravings that should be visible. See other pics for what should be there and example from elsewhere in this tomb. Stone 1 has me puzzled. Help!
A photo of an orthostat supporting a capstone inside a passage grave. The stone is apparently engraved with shapes interpreted as a paddle and two small half-spheres which are described as "breasts" - but could be something else (moon and sun??). These engravings are impossible to see. Plan of the tomb showing the location if stone 1 within the passage and illustration of the "breasts" and paddle. View of the grave. Example of another stone in the grave showing three paddles.

Woop! #StandingStoneSunday A couple of the stones that make up Fox Tor stone alignment on Bodmin Moor near Trewint. Info on the trig point at the top of Fox Tor. QR takes you here: cornwall-landscape.org/monument/fox...
A colour photo of moorland. Visible are two of the remaining stones which make the stone alignment. The stones are no higher than about 50cns high. A photo of an information board which is attached to a trig point at the top of a tor. The text reads :
"Fox Tor Stone Alignment

Rew Meyn Torr Lowam

Running north-northeast to south-southwest across a broad valley, Fox Tor Stone Row survives today as a row of 10 upright and leaning standing stones.

Surveys have shown that originally there might have been up to 32 stones in the alignment which was erected during the Late Neolithic or early Bronze Age. Many of the fallen stones still lie partially hidden beneath the turf today. The largest stone, at the southern end of the row, is set perpendicular to the alignment.

As you walk south, you'll notice a cairn atop the distant tor, Bronn Geliow (Brown Gelly), appear to rise up behind it - presenting a similar arrangement to sites found on Dartmoor such as Hurston Ridge Stone Row.

This alignment towards a significant hill in the landscape with its own rich archaeology, including cairns and a settlement, could help explain the purpose of this monument.

The site is owned and cared for by Trebartha Estates Ltd.

The Nine Stones, Altarnun, Bodmin Moor. Usually when I visit these stones they are standing in water - so great to be able to not get soggy feet on this occasion. #StandingStoneSunday
Colour photo of a stone circle on a moorland setting. Nine stones are visible- one has fallen and the central stone is a much later boundary stone. The circle is also missing at least two stones. The "nine" could come from a corruption of the Cornish word for stone which is "meyn".

Excuse the terrible phone photo - taken from near that cairn. I was obviously drawn to this particular view - Goodaver circle and Browngelly Downs beyond.
Colour photo of moorland. On top of the "first" distant hill the shape of a stone circle can be seen, beyond a hill with 4 visible cairns.

Sometimes the subtle remains are the most intriguing. Platform cairn on East Moor, Altarnun in Cornwall. #TombTuesday

Colour photograph of a stone circle. It stands on heathland which is yellow following the recent hot summer. In the background a range of hills rise up, with the highest point in Cornwall - Bronn Wennili visible in the background. The sky is blue, but lots of white fluffy clouds.

Woop! It's #TombTuesday. For reasons not there's enough space here to explain, I found myself in Liskeard's twin town of Quimperlé in Brittany last week. So on a mission to get content for my St. Cleer Heritage Facebook page I visited the nearby Allée Couverte de Kercordonner near Möelan-Sur-Mer.
Colour photograph showing a standing stone on the right of the picture and then a passage grave stretching across the photo. Visible are several orthostats and some capstones. The surrounding vegetation is dry and yellow because of the ongoing heatwave.

Some of the more than 77 stones that make up La Noce de Pierres or An Eured Ven near the Mont St-Michel de Brasparts in Brittany. Beautiful with the heather and gorse. I'm not sure we could see more than about 20 of the stones. Supposedly an entire wedding party turned to stone. #StandingStoneSunday
Colour photograph of several white coloured stones in a row - part of a much longer row. Set in heath of heather and gorse.

An old fave from me for #TombTuesday Mougau Bihan allée couverte, Commana in Brittany. This site is at about mile 4 of a fave 7 mile loop we walked yesterday. I still stop and look for the carvings to check I can find them and that I haven't missed any even though I have visited many times.
Colour photograph of a long passage grave, several orthostats supporting large capstones. Collage of sites along the 7 mile walk. A boardwalk through wild flower field in an area reclaimed from peat cutting. Two sign posts, a picture of Lac du Drennec and a wayside cross. Collage of pictures from inside the allée couverte showing some of the carvings and a view down the inside of the structure.

A bit of a cheat for #StandingStoneSunday wine picked up at motorway services - because of the pretty label! On the way from the Ariége to Brittany in one very long car journey yesterday. No time or energy to stop off for a pic of an actual standing stone.
A bottle of rose wine with an image of two standing stones. The wine is called "THE MENHIRS VENDÉE FIEFS"

The label refers to "The two menhirs, weighing 11 and 15 tons, at the entrance to the property date back to 3000 BC, and according to legend, were flanked by Gargantua during a chase with the Follet's hounds."

Another Gargantua story - that giant was responsible for a huge number of standing stones on France. It must be true!
We drank the wine once we had arrived - it tasted great.

The Dolmen of El Moreco near Burgos, Spain. East-west oriented, the passage still retains some of its capstones and leads to circular chamber. Photo taken last week. #TombTuesday
View looking down from the top of the tumulus to see the chamber and passage of the tomb. View into the passage. View inside the chamber. The info board said (translated from Spanish)
"One of the most significant aspects of this megalithic tomb is the presence of schematic paintings on one of the chamber blocks, opposite the entrance to the passage. Particularly noteworthy is an anthropomorphic figure painted in red, representing a male individual, whose symbolism is likely related to practices associated with funerary rituals."
We were unable to see this painting, sadly.

A small circular kerb with a central menhir, remains of a burial mound at the Necrópolis de La Polera near Burgos, Spain. We followed the Ruta Arqueólogica signs for about 2.5 miles from the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Montes on the outskirts of the village of Urbiana. #StandingStoneSunday
Colour photograph of a small circular arrangement of stones with a second internal ring and a standing stone in the centre - possible cup marks on the menhir. This is one of around 100 burial mound. Not all have been excavated. It's set on a small hill top surrounded by cultivated fields.

...We were fascinated by the posts, seeking out past winners. It became important for me to find the 1995 winner of the last race my Dad watched before he died - he passed his interest in the race to me, but in 1995 I missed catching up on it with him as I was away working in France that summer.

The Menhirs de Monteneuf in Brittany, nearly 20 years ago. The child, now 21, needs a lift at 2.30am Sunday morning from Plymouth coach station as he managed to book a trip that doesn't return him home to Cornwall. I don't think I'll be awake when it's a normal time to post a #StandingStoneSunday!
