Challenge for everyone: if you passed by or stopped shopping or eating somewhere or skipped an event because of AI advertising, tell them. Send an email. Doesn’t need to be mean or confrontational, but if we want to encourage local places to do better, we have to tell them *why* they lost business.

You know, as a solidly "ban the pervert glasses" guy I'm happy to say I hadn't considered their usefulness as accessibility tools, and this thread convinced me. "Regulate the pervert glasses" is much less emotionally satisfying, but making things easier for blind people is a worthwhile tradeoff

I have never been shown one advantage of using AI to write or research. Every single example of someone saying how they find it helpful is accompanied with "But make sure you check it because you can't trust it". Enshittifying your writing and research should not be an aim.

Should be national. Though need to distinguish between a statement true at the time of screening but changes due to circumstances. Such as a policy position later found to be too expensive or ineffective. Better for parties to fess up & say they learnt they can’t do it than make a bad call.
