Making progress! Now that I know everything fits, I'm making detailed models to replace the basic stand-in shapes, beginning with the turboshafts.

CAPTCHAs are annoying and have gotten damn near impossible. #StarTrek

A parody of a CAPTCHA grid titled “Select all images with a Klingon Bird of Prey” and all nine images in the grid are empty star fields.

"There is no theory of liberalism" is so ridiculous I'm beginning to wonder if @v-newlove.bsky.social is actually some kind of secret liberal agent provocateur who served me up the perfect opening on *purpose*.

Another of my 3d modeling projects: the interior of a Star Trek destroyer. I wanted to see for myself if that shuttlebay would fit inside. And it does! 😃 #startrek #kates3dart #noai

No, that's a failure to BE liberal--as critics of slavery pointed out at the time. The universality of liberty has been there right from liberalism's beginning in the 1600s. Anyone's failure to live up to an ideal is not an indictment of the IDEAL.

It is fundamental to the ideology of liberalism that liberty is a UNIVERSAL right. It's not liberalism without the "all" in "liberty and justice for all". Identity politics IS liberalism.

I took a law class in high school and our teacher asked all of us if we could recite the Preamble. We all immediately started singing it to the Schoolhouse Rock theme. She’d never heard it before and looked at us like we were all in a cult.

My current obsession is modeling early starships from the long-forgotten _Spaceflight Chronology_, Star Trek's first published future history. (I like the modern canon stuff too, I just think it does more harm than good to cram everything into one continuity. Each show can be its own thing.)

This dog came to say "Hi" to me while I was photographing birds, and now you all know that.

A fuzzy white dog looks up at the camera with dark, liquid eyes. Her nose is black and her mouth is open like she's smiling. She's a very good girl.

What are the odds that economic prosperity in Iran from their control of the Strait leads to some political liberalization a generation or two down the line? Genuinely asking, I have no idea, I'm just grasping for a silver lining I guess.
