Almost one month of NOT working 9 to 5. 😉🦋 I chose Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” for this video partly because of the irony & partly as an homage to a woman whose life and legacy meant a lot to me. Dolly showed generations of people that you could be unabashedly, unmistakably yourself.

One thing freelancing has taught me: Freedom only works because of structure. As someone who’s AuDHD, I’ve stopped trying to force myself into someone else’s definition of productivity. Some days I’m at the gym before 7 and start my work day at 8. Some nights my best work happens from 5–11 p.m.

I think one of the biggest misconceptions about ADHD is that ppl w/ it lack discipline. For me, it’s almost the opposite 🧠✨ I am incredibly disciplined. I just need the freedom to work when my brain is ready to do deep, focused work. Tonight, I’ll probably work until 4 a.m. Tmrw, I’ll sleep in.

I’ve noticed a pattern… Nearly every opportunity I pursued through an online portal ended w/ a rejection email or silence. Nearly every opportunity that actually went somewhere started w/ a conversation. 🫶🏻 An email. A DM. A virtual coffee. A referral. Reaching out to someone whose work I admire.
