Yes!!! Same for congress and presidents. Spoken as a 70 something scientist that retired from the C-suite at 65 by choice and still works now back in the trenches with engineers. Give back, mentor, teach, step back and let the next generation lead. It's the best path toward societal progress.

Yes and automatic impeachment when they violate their oath, their spouses are found to antigovernment, they don’t recuse themselves from cases that they benefit from, they take vacation packages from people with cases coming before the court, for starters.

Senior status in this case means they are still on the court but don't have a vote anymore. The Constitution doesn't guarantee them a vote on the bench for life. Just a robe and a paycheck. Either that or they combine their votes so four senior status justices count for one vote.
