Little bit at a time working through the summit b-side. Found out if I try to grind my way through it I'll spend far too long making almost exactly the same mistakes, lulled into some sort of trance.

I don't mind blitzball. It's a perfectly adequate minigame, it adds to the world lore, and importantly can mostly be ignored. I do not like the way rewards are distributed. Locking a key item behind it stops being a reward and becomes a chore. I'd rather be playing with a cactus.

Only the Jupiter sigil left. Then, idk, patch in the holes for the monster arena captures. In all the times I've finished FFX I've never set out to complete that or any of the superbosses. It ends up getting too grindy for little payoff other than completion for completion's sake.

The FFX Chocobo race challenge is not as bad as people make it out to be. Yeah it's annoying to get stunlocked by birds right before the finish. But overall it does follow predictable patterns. Managed to get a 0.0 run in about a half hour with a handful of <3.0 runs before that.

It's always two years. Major life altering event? Two years ago. Complete restructuring of social circle? Two years. Two years ago it all happened two years ago. So the theory goes. Without anchoring events the timeline would look like spaghetti.

FFX is one of my favorites in the series. However, I do have a few criticisms: Remaster specific gripe, dark aeons shouldn't wall off portions of the world. I think they'd work better as player activated encounters. Second, experience should be given to whole party instead of requiring switches.

Y'know the illusion of solidarity was nice for a while, when I only needed to worry about the MAGA shitheads wanting me dead. They are more than willing to show their allegiances. Turns out there are plenty willing to stab us in the back, too. Fools, cowards, or both. Disgraceful.

KH broadening their reach concerns me. Like, yeah that's great it might draw in more people, but also i worry bigger fan base means creative control will shift in an undesirable direction. To my knowledge the series was a passion project, not cash cow.
