What is archaeology? It is the study of the past, through material remains. Sometimes 150 years old, and sometimes several thousand years old. Pictures show assemblage of remains from circa 1870 CE and TRB ceramic circa 3300 BCE

A little holiday pet project with my son: building a small contained aquarium using life from our local lake. The first attempt failed 😅, but the second is a success—now with breeding snails and a live Gasterosteus aculeatus. Great fun, highly recommended!

During the weekend I experienced a great heated debate with friends, about what archaeology is; It resulted in me pointing out that archaeology is basic. It is the study of material culture of the past combined with the rest of academia. Archaeology in itself does not say much. What do you think?
