Exactly this. Tell them you can't approve it and they should just use the perfectly functional actual picture that you provided.

A fascinating editorial decision from the BBC, to make the headline a scaremongering “AUTISM AND ADHD ARE BEING OVERDIAGNOSED”, and then, four bullet points later, have the author of the report quoted as essentially saying “nah, that’s bullshit, actually”.
ADHD and autism at risk of over-diagnosis, says report, as author warns of rise in mental ill health
Summary
• An official review in England finds there is a risk of people being over-diagnosed with
ADHD and autism - three key findings from the report
• As well as neurodevelopmental conditions, the review looks at mental ill health, particularly in younger people. Our health correspondent explains the difference
• It was commissioned earlier this year after Wes Streeting, then the health secretary, said there was an "over-diagnosis" of mental health conditions
• Speaking to Radio 4's Today programme earlier, review chair Prof Peter Fonagy said Streeting was "with respect, completely wrong"

I spent pretty much all of The Sheep Detectives just feeling sad for Winter Lamb (I can't be the only autistic to have done this), so, this:

It's either ideological, or you & I just got in too late after the Diagnosis Quota had been reached and therefore we must be making it up.

🎃 Brand new work to celebrate it being October! 🎃 ‘Halloween in the Suburbs’. Black pen and acrylic inks on off white paper. Unsigned Giclee Prints: £50 +P&P Signed Giclee Prints: £70 +P&P Illustration size: A4 Email Nick at: nicktankardart@gmail.com 🎃👻
An illustration of a small old wooden house with a little porch. Its windows are illuminated by the light within. The house sits on a street in suburban America, it is Halloween. The neighbourhood is active with spooky goings on, ghosts in white sheets on the street and in the windows of the house, mummies amble about, glowing pumpkins on the sidewalk and porch. A black cat strolls in front of the house, a black crow sits on top of the little house. On the porch a little witch with her black dress, broom and crooked hat knocks on the door, trick or treating? Going to a party? Or an unwanted guest?
The illustration is done in black crosshatch pen on white paper, the pumpkins are orange with yellow glowing eyes in stark contrast to the black & white. Whimsical and celebratory…Halloween in the Suburbs!

FRIDAY SHOP PLUG! matpringleillustration.bigcartel.com 'Tis the season for ghoulish linocut prints that delve deep beneath the blood dappled soil into the gnarled roots of folklore and folk horror. This linocut bunting features graven illustrations inspired by corn dollies, standing stones...
Linocut artwork carefully printed the directly onto wooden bunting. There are nine different prints across nine bits of plywood measuring approximately 15cm x 13cm each. The three in the picture depict two skeleton lovers, a witch hare and mask of sticks.

's greht, innit. The PGTs only require 3x 20 minutes per year (unless needy) plus admin but now the meetings MUST BE centrally organised, which is orders of magnitude more efficient than when I sent out slots I could do and they booked the one they could do. Yes. Better.
110
Karla @karlabakes.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
I have 23 PGTs and 10 apprentices. Apprentices need 5x 45-60 minute appointments each year, which must detail clearly which Competencies and Knowledges Skills and Behaviours they have met, and how they met them. Then needs writing up on their portfolio, and on our tutoring system.

One of the delights of my (so far only) visit to Australia this year was the slow realisation that I wasn't seeing them everywhere. I'm not a coffee drinker but I very much appreciated the results of Australians knowing their coffee 👍

Do you think people realise how many of us actively choose not to engage with them just because of this? Or do they, but just don't care? (in which case, I wish they wouldn't, but I won't feel guilty about choosing the alternative)

I'm part of an amazing team looking at what autistic children want from their speech and language therapy. Nobody has asked them before! We're currently using some brilliant materials, developed with and by autistic people, to make interviews accessible to all children, not just those who speak
What we want: how can Speech & Language Therapy best meet the needs of autistic children?

We are looking for autistic children (9 – 15 years 11 months old) to take part in an adapted interview about their priorities and preferences in Speech & Language Therapy.

We hope our findings will support the development of services in this area.

We are looking for children who can express a choice on these matters, using a total communication approach. They should have a formal autism diagnosis which follows national clinical guidance on best practice.

If want to ask any questions about eligibility or to find out more generally, please contact us: NDSpeech-LanguageTherapy@manchester.ac.uk

Our team includes experienced & DBS checked autistic researchers & Speech & Language Therapists. Our interviews will be adapted to meet your child’s needs.
