Pre-1965 Jim Crow stripped Black Americans of their vote and voice. The Voting Rights Act finally broke those chains, but now that progress is under direct threat. We cannot let history repeat itself as rights are stripped away again.

GOOD NEWS: Despite RFK Jr saying he would cancel $500 million in mRNA research, the House Committee on Appropriations has passed a spending package, that includes $1.1 billion for “advanced research and development” at BARDA, which includes research on mRNA vaccines.

It’s not too late to start masking. You don’t have to do it alone. You won’t be the lone masker. There’s an engaged Covid cautious and disability community who will help you. There’s local mask blocs who provide respirators to those who can’t afford them. Covid is still here, and masks work!

When you wear a mask, you’re practicing radical self care and community care. You’re protecting yourself from COVID and other airborne diseases, while also committing to breaking chains of transmission. You’re ensuring you don’t get anyone else sick. Masking is an act of resistance.
