ACOG District II released a new report that offers critical insights into the true scope of the maternity care access crisis facing New York State based on survey results from physicians and perinatal health professionals. Learn more and read the full report: bit.ly/3USFh6A
Promotional graphic from ACOG with large text at the top that reads, "Maternity care access issues aren't limited to maternity care deserts." On the left is the cover page of the Challenges to Maternity Care Access in New York State report from ACOG District 2 and the ACOG Foundation. The text on the right reads, "Physicians and health care professionals in New York State are facing a maternity care access crisis of their own. A new report from ACOG District II sheds light on that crisis—and its potential solutions."A graphic from ACOG displaying a quote from ACOG President Dr. Camille A. Clare that says, "This report examines not only the thorny issues that exist for health care professionals when it comes to lack of access but also those problems that often inhibit patients from accessing care. Whether a patient with a high-risk pregnancy can’t afford to come in until they’re having a medical emergency or someone misses work to wait for a Medicaid cab that’s 45 minutes late, these types of barriers must be recognized and addressed because they are what lead to poor health outcomes.” The ACOG logo appears at the bottom.

ACOG is deeply disappointed by HHS’s move to drop COVID-19 vaccine recommendations in pregnancy. The science is clear: COVID-19 remains dangerous in pregnancy and vaccination protects both patients and newborns. The vaccine is safe and protects families. Read our full statement: buff.ly/OGue7sO

The expertise of HHS staff is critical to the health and safety of every person in the U.S. Their work ensures access to care, powers lifesaving research, and safeguards public health. The termination of thousands of employees is a devastating blow to our health care infrastructure. buff.ly/UNxD4RT
