On a new yard duty at work today. Lots of kids I used to work with ~2-4 years ago. A boy I worked with very closely ~3 years ago runs up to me and asks, "Who let YOU outside???" with genuine bafflement. 10/10 question. Great kid.

Very much torn right now regarding the social model of disability because. On the one hand, my quality of life would be much improved if major societal adjustments occurred. I could live a much improved life if I was isekaied into different circumstances. But I'd still be symptomatic, and disabled.

Desperate to do a bunch of housework but my right knee had decided that standing for more than two (2) seconds means it's subluxation time. Fortunately my exoskeleton (dynamic orthoses) is preventing it from coming out. But like. Hoooooo the "don't bear weight" signals are hard to ignore.

This is shameful discriminatory and misogynistic reporting. People aren’t choosing disability to be “cool”. Young women don’t have to “prove” to you that they’re sick. Disability rates are skyrocketing because we’ve left a disabling virus rip through the population for over 6 years.

Woke up today and checked my emails, found that someone has been combing through my entire Ao3 and leaving immense detailed comments on each one. Very affectionate and positive. They are picking up what I'm putting down. I could pick them up and eat them. Squeeze them until they pop.

Mourning myself a bit once again. Spent two days outside and my brain was working better than usual. Felt (more) like myself for a bit. Headache wasn't too bad. Back home. Back inside. And every glowing light is sending nails straight through my face and tearing my head back up. The melting agony.

8 months and minimal improvement on head injury/post concussion syndrome symptoms. Some things getting worse. At least GP is on it now, reaching back out to neuropsych rehab places, ordering a fresh MRI, etc etc.

Last repost is too real. I enjoy the reactions at work when I return after an absence, and my response to "are you feeling better?" is a firm "no". Able bodied people show such discomfort with the idea of persistent, painful symptoms. That discomfort is just a tiny fraction of what my body handles.
