We DO have a podcast episode recorded for this week. It's... uhh... just going to take a little longer than usual to edit and produce. Stay tuned — it'll be worth it!

It’s kind of / technically an official designation — seen here in Daizenshuu 4. 一味 means like “crew” or “gang” or “organization” (translated in the book as “… and his followers”).

Hi! Is there any particular reason your friend doubts the accuracy of this translation? (That is to say, what prompted this question in the first place?) We checked it again (twice) — it's a perfectly fine/accurate translation of the answer. Here are photos from its original Japanese publication.

This comes from a page in the pamphlet for the summer 1992 Toei Anime Fair, where DBZ movie 7 premiered. If you sent in the little entry coupon, you could win one of these fabulous prizes! Yes, 100 of the Yardrat Goku figures were promoted as being up for grabs to lucky winners.

This Super Saiyan Goku Yardrat outfit figure came up in our Discord the other day. It’s funny how so often just this snippet of an image, devoid of any context or translation, is what gets shared! Yes, this is absolutely one of the more rare pieces of merchandise. But where did it come from…? 🧵

Kanzenshuu @kanzenshuu.com · 27/04/2026

Not QUITE sure what you mean — but yes, tankobon is slightly cropped on the sides compared to the original WJ publication due to different paper dimensions (image 1), compared to the kanzenban which shows the full width of the original page (image 2). Compare how much you can see of Ox King’s hand.

Another January has arrived, which means @kanzenshuu.com is another year older when you trace it aaaaall the way back to the technically-correct (the best kind of correct!) beginnings. 28 isn't necessarily a notable milestone number... but we're still here, and we think it'll be a pretty good year.
