I think King's Bounty predates it with the basics of the combat, but there are ample more things to love Hammer of the Gods for, like it's Norse myth theme (you can play in 700AD Europe!), mission-based victory paths and 4X-like approach (you can trade, build roads between cities, etc) A classic! 🔥

I still give a silent nod whenever MICROPROSE's name appears in the trailer. Almost like a weekly liturgy at this point. 🫡 It's such an epic and fitting combination. I can't stop loving the Laser Squad vibes either. Hope the collaboration works flawlessly so far!

Oh yes, medieval politics between competitive players naturally tends to create that kind of vibe. ⚔️ The difference to typical online multiplayer strategy games is that in Feudums it’s not "just" emergent behavior, but also something the core systems are actually built to support and encourage. ⚖️

I did that mistake on the old bird platform, but switched to a company handle here to avoid the same lock-in. But place your game in a shared universe and it won't be an issue at all! ;) ("In the far future of Terra Randoma...")

In competitive multiplayer, not everyone can be always online. In Feudums, you can setup command queues, give instructions to your semi-autonomous forces, and use reserves to adjust later. And can't spend on advantages. So strategy beats screen time or💰 Open Alpha! #screenshotsaturday #indiedev 🎮

A friend of mine, Enkidu, has been making his prehistoric 4X for years. Fun fact: before Feudums, I explored a similar idea, but the setting wasn't great for the multiplayer social dynamics I wanted. His game however is single-player - and quite fun. If the setting appeals to you, take a look!

Thanks! But it’s not just your friends but also new connections! :) Online strategy games work best as drama engines. When a match lasts weeks or months, the social layer becomes real rich, with players building, scheming, and trusting each other in ways AIs can't ever truly replicate in SP.
