Because one talk over a weekend apparently wasn’t enough bad life choices: Also on Sunday, 12:30–13:10 in H.1301 (Software Performance devroom) I’ll be speaking with Augusto de Oliveira: “How to Measure Software Performance Reliably”

I’m heading to FOSDEM 2026 🧪 On Sunday, 13:30–14:00 in UB5.132 (Go devroom) I’ll be co-presenting with Hannah Kim: “How to Instrument Go Without Changing a Single Line of Code” Basically: all the ways to get observability without touching your beloved git blame.

Second-to-last slot at #GopherConUK25. ADHD ensured I prepped at the *optimal* time: right before going on stage. Didn’t enjoy the conference much — probably just tired. Glad I did it though. The talk… might’ve actually been good.

Finally did it—after a decade, Go officially overtook Ruby as my actively* most-coded language! 🥳 Took a long journey from my caffeinated Ruby-monkey days to becoming a dedicated gopher. Progress! *hands-on the keyboard!

Back in September, it was full of wild weeds. By October, it had transformed into something nice—a new hobby. Saw a post about ‘tending your garden’ and self-hosting. I’m into both, though not sure if gardening will stick. Let’s talk next summer.
