I had such a great time presenting at #SPSP2026! Shoutout to my labmates @bzubaly.bsky.social and @nicole-li.bsky.social for their fantastic presentations 😊
Kaelyn Sabree presents cross-national findings on disgust responses to human bodily sounds to an audience during a talk at the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) annual conference, with a slide comparing fluid and air-expulsion sounds projected at the front of the room.Benjamin Zubaly presents his poster, “Women’s intrasexual competitiveness, but not fertility, predicts greater competitive behavior toward attractive women across the menstrual cycle,” to an attendee during a poster session at the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) annual conference.Nicole Li presents her poster, “Perceived Cooperation Need, Ecological Threats, and Norm Enforcement,” to an attendee during a poster session at the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) annual conference in a large convention hall.

New work on resource possession + hierarchy regulation! Do the faces on the left and right look different to you? They were generated using a reverse correlation task by UK ps asked to visualize “poor people”: 🟩 Generated by egalitarians (low SDO) 🟥 Generated by anti-egalitarians (high SDO)
Two sets of faces bounded by a green box (left) and a red box (right). Faces in the left, green box were generated by egalitarians, faces in the right, red box were generated by anti-egalitarians

I had a great time at HBES 2025 @humbehevosoc.bsky.social! I presented my work on a method we developed that allows us to predict who people will choose as partners 3 months into the future—participants chose romantic partners on their own, in their own mating markets—with zero intervention from us!
