I’m fairly rufty-tufty (hence why it’s in the name) so I am a Quest type all day long! A quest or expedition that popped to mind just now was @kaagardwriting.bsky.social’s “The Hunter”. “After 50 years, his revenge is complete and his purpose fulfilled...” and yet… 📚⚔️ #FantasyBooks 🪐📚💙 #BookSky 🦋

Niko loves signing books because he gets paid 1 churu for each book. Sadly he had only 1 book to sign. He was very disappointed. Help a starving artist, request a signature from Niko. He dreams of daily churu payments.

🔖 I’ve been reading two books more-or-less in parallel for the past wee while. Yesterday I finished one, and today I completed @kaagardwriting.bsky.social’s “The Hunter”, a story of a very good 🐺 whom I recall featured in a squiggly lines diagram describing it! 😄 ⚔️ #FantasyBooks 🪐📚💙 #BookSky 🦋

📖 “The Hunter” by @kaagardwriting.bsky.social was picked out of a line-up for me by @palmerpickering.bsky.social. It’s got a fabulous cover and some inner artworks that appear to be chapter-specific. So far I am getting to know the Hunter, a Dire Wolf, and a Thief. ⚔️ #FantasyBooks 🪐📚💙 #BookSky 🦋

Inside “The Hunter” where we can see the drawing of a feather at the chapter heading page for “Chapter 2 - The Trapped Thief”.

The back of “The Hunter” where the blurb reads as follows:

STRIDER IS CONTENT TO DIE...
After 50 years, his revenge is complete and his purpose fulfilled. When a teenager steals the Hunter's sword, his wolf companion Greer sees a way to help them both: in convincing Strider to escort the girl home safely, there's hope his friend might find the will to keep on living - to keep on fighting.
But this is no ordinary job. His young employer is deeply entangled in a dark plot that threatens her and her fiefdom.
Strider must employ his magic and battle training to ensure their survival against soldiers and mercenaries out to claim their bounty.
Can these unlikely allies find a way to survive, or will their differences and secrets destroy them all?

Cocoa has developed a lump on her flank. I think it was from the rabies vaccine just like what happened to Saber. The vet is going to have to surgically remove it for a biopsy and I don't have the funds needed to pay for it. The longer we wait the higher the risk to her leg and life. I need help.

One of my absolute favorite reads so far in my last year! The Hunter by @kaagardwriting.bsky.social! review on @sffinsiders.com in the comments! An absolutely awesome story, with probably the best animal companion since….honestly maybe ever. And the way it was written was beautiful. A must read!

To the amazing person who bought a book box. I am sorry I couldn't ship it today. I got off work to find Cocoa had had a diarrhea explosion. She not only covered herself & her entire room, she then escaped her room & wouldn’t let me catch her as she spread it everywhere. 🥲 Pray for me. 💀💀

Cocoa still won't let me touch her but she will rub against me. She is very curious and likes to watch what I'm doing. She's going to be curious little shadow to whoever adopts her and gives her time to blossom. Her old owner said she loved sitting in her lap while she blowdried her hair. 🤣

Been reading aloud to her so she gets used to my voice and presence. She still keeps growling at me but that'sunderstandable. She's scared, she doesn't understand why she's not home with her humans. It'll take her time to be okay with me and that's okay.

Someone I know couldn't keep their kitty. They're heartbroken but they're making the right decisions for their little buddy. I'm fostering her until we find her a good home. She's scared but I can tell she's very sweet. She's 9 months & she's already bigger than Saber. Meet Cocoa. 💙😿
