I am giving an invited talk, which is very nice and flattering. But the oeganisers have put my photo through AI for the poster and it's given me someone else's chin, made my grey hair into gold highlights, and made me smile more

I'm part of an amazing team looking at what autistic children want from their speech and language therapy. Nobody has asked them before! We're currently using some brilliant materials, developed with and by autistic people, to make interviews accessible to all children, not just those who speak

What we want: how can Speech & Language Therapy best meet the needs of autistic children?

We are looking for autistic children (9 – 15 years 11 months old) to take part in an adapted interview about their priorities and preferences in Speech & Language Therapy.

We hope our findings will support the development of services in this area.

We are looking for children who can express a choice on these matters, using a total communication approach. They should have a formal autism diagnosis which follows national clinical guidance on best practice.

When I was little my primary school headteacher got an artist in to teach us to paint flowers. He needed a young girl with curly hair to paint for a job. This is how I ended up on the front cover of People's Friend magazine

Rug needs some work. Nothing like DIY to make you realise how filthy the rest of the house is

Just found this in the sitting room and everything is definitely fine

A pitch dark room with a dust sheet on the floor. There are planks and tins of pains on the floor but everything is chaotic. The only light is emanating from some kind of arc thing that sticks out of a giant chopsaw, like some kind of godforsaken or indeed godforsaking dystopian spaceship. Sleep tight on my behalf.

Anyway here's me giving it full forehead being happy in front of the pride flag in the window of our local community centre. The Gregson in Lancaster if you're in the area.

Here is the little blackbird sitting on her eggs that we discovered over the weekend. She's been out there all day in the rain looking grumpy. We're keeping an eye on her and making as sure as we can no cats get near her. She is extremely feisty though: Daph runs away when she's yelling
