Keith Henry @k17.dev · 30/09/2026I think there might be a hard mathematical limit here, something like: an LLM can maintain an app until the code + reflection/RAG reaches it's context window, then everything it adds past that gets exponentially worse in a vicious cycle of more crappy code making it harder to write less crappy code 100
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 30/09/2026Every app written this way basically takes the technical debt you usually build up over years with a large team, and compresses that into a few sprints. Instead of rework/refactor after a decade, you're doing it between prototype and production. LLMs are software progeria. 101
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 30/09/2026Give it a tight, modular, SOLID code-base - code it adds typically won't be, but it also only uses any of that modularity as long as the RAG can find it. Like it has 20 single-responsibility services, but can't find the one it should use and so either re-implements it or bolts that on to another... 100
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 30/09/2026If you ask for something from scratch it's surface-level impressive but everything implemented 3 different ways and exponentially more code every time you try to iterate... 100
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 30/09/2026But it doesn't. It rapidly fills a context window with crappy code, and (if you're lucky) finds that with RAG next time you ask it, but much more likely re-implements in a slightly different (but still crappy) way, and then repeats until you have 100x mode code than you need... 100
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 30/09/2026It never extracts repeated code to a method, it never abstracts a re-used set of methods to a DI interface, it uses try-catch everywhere and re-implements from scratch every chance it gets. Now if, IF, it could keep all this together that might not matter - it works and you can just vibe code on... 100
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 30/09/2026The more I work with LLM code the clearer it is that it's terrible at it. The context window is never large enough, and RAG can fill some gaps in tightly written modular code, but LLMs specifically will not write code like that. They both can't handle bloat and write almost nothing else... 100

Keith Henry @k17.dev · 25/09/2026I think the funniest thing about this is that Yaxley-lennon has started a fundraiser for Thomas's legal fees, but like all his 'fundraisers' Thomas won't see a penny 🤣 010

Keith Henry @k17.dev · 25/09/2026I thought you guys being bought by Blofeld would be the end of your journalism, but I guess I was wrong... this is Pulitzer stuff! Breaking the hard scoops and speaking truth to power! You're back bayybeeee! 000
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 25/09/2026Being a billionaire causes brain damage. He has people to arrange his house for him, and drive him from private jet to home to helicopter pad. His executive function has atrophied away. This is Marie Antoinette shit: "why don't poor people just ask their security where their house is?" 1221
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 25/09/2026He's not an "anti-migrant agitator" he's a terrorist, i.e. one who uses violence (or the threat of it) to coerce people to adhere to their ideological goals. When you mollify language like this you try to make his violence more acceptable, you are NOT objectively reporting. 0102
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 23/09/2026Portals are a different thing - you're adding a massive complication to have a moving door that stays open over time, on top of the (already impossible) instant teleportation and time travel that preserves and redirects momentum (so you don't slam into the ground at the speed of the Earth) 000
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 23/09/2026So what if: every teleporter could also time travel, nobody would use it that way because of the risk of local spacetime annihilation if you influence yourself? 150
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 23/09/2026Make that jump short enough so that the future time cone from your new location misses where you came from and you avoid paradoxes - you can't stop yourself from setting off. Paris a couple of milliseconds ago would be safe. 240
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 21/09/2026Is it that a spy toothbrush is a fucking stupid idea, or that Dyson are tax dodging scum that sell once-innovative, now thoroughly enshitified and overpriced products? 030
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 21/09/2026As CTO, I want a clearly defined, managed and maintainable collection of tightly-controlled agents for my company. It's quite shocking how far Microsoft (the least 'wild-west' of all the vendors offering this) is from a usable product. 000
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 21/09/2026None of this is source or version controlled, when you make a mistake you manually have to reconfigure, and you can't test anything until you put it live... 100
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 21/09/2026Then there's the UI/UX: janky broken confused mess of weird choices, like sliding right hand detail panels that don't click away... 100
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 21/09/2026And so on. Mess about in Admin long enough and they finally see it, but... now you have a new version that you want to publish, either as an upgrade or side by side, it doesn't matter, the live agent is going to break either way... 100
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 21/09/2026Security and access is a mess, with multiple tiers of access to configure but pass-through of credentials for an MCP (or other tooling) is another tier again... 100
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 21/09/2026But then you publish, go to O365 Admin, choose who can access it (again) and yayy! your users still can't see it in the O365 Copilot app... 100
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 21/09/2026You can't just publish, you have to share with a channel, and the properties (icon, name, description) are different from the agent in Studio... 100
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 21/09/2026Copilot Studio + O365 Copilot + Microsoft O365 Admin portal is a broken half-baked bug-ridden clusterfuck. It's not remotely ready for production... 100
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 21/09/2026There is no political centre: there are folks who believe everyone should be equal (so solidarity etc) and folks who believe some are better than others (so enforce hierarchies etc) The centre are just a stupider version of the latter that think if the 'some' is niche enough it becomes OK. 1173
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 21/09/2026I'm not sure how to fix this one, those properties were built long before bin collection and the listing makes them extremely difficult to adapt. The Birkenhead ward has Green councillors, it could be worth reaching out to them direct? 220
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 21/09/2026I used to live in a similar listed terrace in central Chester - their council's solution was for residents to put our bags out on the day of collection (no green bins) and hope the rats didn't get to them before the collectors. Chester has a lot of rats. 210
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 19/09/2026From here the road is AI as commodity - paying less and less for the cheapest model until even on-prem hosting is viable and cloud costs are negligible. 000
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 19/09/2026It's an extra check that occasionally catches bugs, but mostly adds noise. It spots one real thing and 5 dumb things and someone needs to read all of them. There is a net gain, but it's very small and likely nonexistent if it wasn't subsidised. 100
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 19/09/2026They always think they're so fucking subtle, they're convinced of their own smartness, while being very stupid. Hey dipshits, we know what your memes are, your 'top secret' codes and shibboleths are on the damn internet. 030
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 18/09/2026It's not news. Who cares what these two inbred (and related) arseholes say about each other? Why are news organisations helping sell Spencer's tedious book? Why is a king (a man who profits from stealing the wealth of others) being callous news? 020
Reposted by Keith HenryStarfire’s Deranged Neocon Foreign Policy Podcast @irhottakes.bsky.social · 18/09/2026It’s very simple. A reality TV host became dictator because he turned down a role for Sharknado 4 and that’s why the king of outer space, who cheats at Diablo, got to kill Africa. Now the economy is controlled by a sex cult that has something to do with Harry Potter fanfic because of robots. 15786352557
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 18/09/2026Fucking Cromwell. Evil cunt thought it was more important to conquer Ireland than cut Charles II's head off. That's the problem with royalty: if you don't cut Charles II's head off, you get a Charles III. 010
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 18/09/2026Don't get me wrong, AI should be regulated, but no, it is just algorithms running in the cloud. When it does something like hacking Hugging Face that's because it was given a bunch of hacking tools to call, and run in a loop until it did that. 000
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 18/09/2026I can think of few people less educated and less qualified to speak about anything, never mind a complex technology, than inbred fuckwit Charlie here. Why does the coverage of this never get to the 'rationalist'/EA/p(doom)-erist religion fueling this bollocks? 110
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 18/09/2026Top news on the BBC: overprivileged dick with a new book to sell accused some other overprivileged inbred wanker of being callous. A cruel royal? I'm shook 😐 Seriously BBC, nobody gives even a single solitary shred of a fuck, this isn't news. 000
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 18/09/2026Being close to a rail station increases the value of houses and profits of businesses. Cities with excellent public transport are always wealthier than those without. The funds to pay for those links should come from that wealth. 010
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 18/09/2026Similar problem in the UK, where we had public rail and they sold it off to private monopolies, who then ran it into the ground. Public transport needs to run like a utility, it can't make a profit and it can't grow even when it does, enshitification is inevitable. 120
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 18/09/2026You need to build the 15 minute cities FIRST, which can pay for their infrastructure with the denser taxes from more people in urban accommodation. Then you don't ask rural folks to give up their cars, you ask more folks to move to those cities. 070
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 18/09/2026It's not sustainable - everyone spread out over large distances means the tax revenue per sq mile is too low to maintain all those roads. That's why all the US infrastructure (bridges, tunnels, road surfaces) is slowly disintegrating. 3140
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 15/09/2026We should replace them, as head of state, with an actor. Like James Bond or Doctor Who. If their ratings go down or there's a scandal we swap them out for the next one. As idiots keep saying, the king is "only ceremonial", so make that the job. 000
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 15/09/2026"But what about the tourism?" Yes, how will we cope with all the new stately homes opened to the public? We'll be like Paris, and nobody goes on holiday there. 100
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 15/09/2026#royalstimetogo? Yes. Get rid. Britain should be a democracy with equal rule of law for all, including nonce princes and grubby corrupt kings. 120
Keith Henry @k17.dev · 14/09/2026It's a bafflingly shit circuit... why doesn't a brand new track have any overtaking opportunities? Why is every corner a fast sweeping one? 000
