What I find inspiring is the deep, genuine affection that they have for each other—a bond that politics cannot break.

One problem with the Hasan Piker line of attacks is that maybe 98% of humanity is unaware he exists, and of those who have heard of his existence, approximately 90% know nothing more than his name.

I suspect, but don’t know, that a stance like this would raise eyebrows at the NFL Scouting Combine.

This is an incredibly stupid cross examination question. The witness is never going to give you a clean yes or no on this. They will provide context and make the question and questioner look stupid.

Tax cuts cannot pay for themselves. It’s called “math” and basic economics. Suppose $100 profit/income and 30% tax rate. That means $30 in taxes. Now suppose we lower taxes to 20%. We get $10 less in taxes. How much growth is needed to make up that $10? You need $50 in growth: $150 x 20% = $30 1/

Just asking questions, folks. “Hawks” and “Hawkeyes” may seem like different team names, but we don’t have to accept whatever “Big Dictionary” tries to spoon feed us.

The exotic legal theory that consumer protection laws can form the basis of liability for running or publishing inaccurate polls has met its inevitable demise. Maybe Seltzer will file a malicious prosecution claim. But the more likely outcome is that she moves on with her life.

The federal tort claims act exists for claims like this. It’s not anywhere close to full justice, but there needs to be accountability.

Had an online tussle with an anonymous account who said I was psycho and demonic (of course I blocked). My offense? I said we should have immigration enforcement, but it should be like Canada’s not like ICE. This person believed that immigration laws are cruel, and there should be no enforcement. 1/

The “truth” is that Fetterman regularly goes on right wing programs to bash his own party. No one else, on the right or left, regularly goes on shows catering to their opponents’ audience to bash their own party. That’s not a “smear” I heard. That’s what I see with my own eyes, regularly.

The Kennedy Center, like the reflecting pool, is 100% Trump-manufactured. If literally any other human being were President, this crisis would not exist.

The argument is that you cannot redraw a map after the primary. As someone who has litigated these issues, the way to handle this is a nonpartisan special election for the Missouri congressional delegation on the same date as the general election. That’s what happened in TX in 2006.

American Muslims are giving Texas barbecue a halal makeover
Even as anti-Muslim rhetoric rises in Texas, Muslim pitmasters are winning over diners and reshaping one of the state's most iconic culinary traditions.

A very positive sign that, nearly a year after Kirk's death, many if not most of the people punished for speaking truthfully about him have won legal cases against their former employees and compensation. Again, panicked compliance with Trumpism has only *cost* institutions.

as noted yesterday, Trump has now come around to treating an Iranian toll system covering the Strait of Hormuz as a given. Hard to overstate the level of strategic failure. US started the war purely as a war of choice and ends up dramatically empowering Iran and given the Iranian govt big wins.

Senator Collins didn’t only vote for Kavanaugh, she spoke at length in defense of his nomination on the Senate floor. She insisted that she was right about Kavanaugh’s approach to Roe and everyone else was wrong. Here is her speech: www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/PDF...

January 6 was literally a declaration of war against free and fair elections. We had an election, and Biden was the clear winner. Having tried, and failed, dozens of times to reverse the election through courts and by pressuring state officials, Trump fomented a violent insurrection instead.

Officers shooting a man, running away from law enforcement, who is not a target of law enforcement, and who poses no threat to law enforcement, is murder. Federal officers do not have the power to commit summary executions because they are aggrieved.

Suing and settling is common. What’s uncommon is to sue an entity you control and then settle with yourself. Since this distinction is obvious and easy to understand, ignoring it to make a false equivalence argument looks dishonest.
