The matchups 2-0 against monster tron (not the new Chrysalis version) 2-0 against monster tron again (same variant this time too) 2-0 against the mirror, neither of us knew how to play this one but it was a lot of fun 2-0 against dimir cam/helix combo, this brew was sweet as hell

I posted a pic of union and forgot to even talk about it oops Thrush being another source of lifegain lets you condense the list a lil by cutting union which feels good. Union's a bit of a stinker most of the time, but it also just wins the game sometimes, thrush being less variance is freeing

another weird ChaoticMTG 5-0 brew got me to give Old Trush a try in ephemerate at locals last night. I only ran one in the place of one of my augurs, but it felt pretty good, deffo want to give the 2/2 split a try at some point. Having some lifegain is nice, and it really helps clean up early mana

and tune felt fine too! its not near as good as the other pauper cantrips, but it being instant and not requiring anything else like brainstorm felt real nice, I curved it into a big jolted awake a ton, I was really surprised that it felt as good as it did

I found myself really tempted to not take the card archaeologist pulled so i could get the +1 counter all the time, and it puts you 3 cards down in deck, I almost milled myself a bunch with it. Maybe with more yard interaction i could see it being better, but i really missed augur here

I also tried 2 Aether spikes in the place of 2 counterspells, it only needing one blue pip did feel huge, holding up 2 blue in a 3-color pauper manabase is tough and this felt smooth, but it did feel like it fell off fast and never actually netted me any energy and wasnt worth over og counterspell

the biggest pickup with this version is Jolted awake imo, the og version cant get dudes out of the yard and this gave you some real reach with reusing dead mulldrifters, or getting archaeomancers back for real cheap, the tradeoff is Fallaji over augur of bolas to set it up and I dont think its worth

ChaoticMTG 5-0'd with this energy brew of Jeskai ephemerate last week and it really caught my attention so I gave it a spin at locals last night, the notable swaps where these 4. I ended up going 2-2 with it, it didnt feel near as tuned as the regular version, but it felt like theres something there
