The Labour Party’s women’s conference on 26/9/26 was an embarrassing farce, with only 200 delegates of the 1,000 normal attendance (no major unions) in protest of the Labour Party’s shameful abandonment of trans people following the legally absurd ruling of the Supreme Court in FWS in April 2025.

🧵 Since I announced that I was standing to become Deputy Leader of the Green Party, I have been subjected to a sustained series of allegations, complaints, leaks and personal attacks. Some have been explicitly racist and Islamophobic.

It didn't stop when I was elected.
I have tried not to respond to every allegation. I've tried to be patient, trust the proper processes and let the evidence speak for itself.
But there comes a point when you have to look at the pattern.
In early August, allegations were made about the Special Responsibility Allowance allocated to me by the Leeds Green Group.
The Head of Democratic Services looked at it. The Office of the City Solicitor looked at it. Both confirmed that the Green Group had acted properly.
The allegations continued.
Now Leeds City Council's Internal Audit team has completed a further review. We have received confirmation that:
"The payment for the Special Responsibility Allowance (Opposition Group Officer Holder) has been made by the council in accordance with normal practice, and that the council has discharged its role appropriately."

Sharing this statement by Tees Valley Greens. My personal sympathy to the families of everyone caught up in this. We need more support, less judgement in our communities.

Green Party would remove the power organised crime networks have on communities across Teesside through the legalisation and regulation of drugs, helping addicts also in the process.

Green Party would ensure our justice system revolves heavily around rehabilitation to prevent reoffending.

Ultimately there is no quick fix to deal with poverty and the resulting violent crime in our area, it requires major investment into public services and community initiatives that we are doubtful the sitting or shadow governments are prepared to do.

So in the meantime we call for, an urgent reinvestment into lost emergency services in the area as well as urgent reinvestment into drug services, youth services, and mental health services, and we urge that reinvestment is in-line with pre austerity levels
