Does anyone else wonder why some literary magazines don’t pay their contributors but clearly spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on advertising on social media? It’s really weird to me that some magazines do that. I’d rather pay my contributors than pay Zuckerberg, but maybe that’s just me.

If you're a new writer looking to publish your book, my biggest piece of advice is to do research into publishing, no matter whether you want to go trad or self-pub. And PLEASE avoid vanity presses and hybrid publishers that ask you to pay to publish your book.
