In that moment I thought, "What the hell is happening?" A bunch of students gathered in a lecture hall to watch the news. That's where I first saw the chaos in NYC and the Pentagon, and learned that another plane went down in Pennsylvania. It was all so surreal.

25 years ago, I was in college and getting ready for the day when I heard on the radio that a plane had hit the WTC. It sounded like an accident. About an hour later, I was in class when we were told the Towers had collapsed and another plane had hit the Pentagon.

Folks in our neighborhood *love* fireworks. Our dog does not. I bought a bunch of busy butter (full of tryptophan and other calming goodness) to get him through the next few days, scraped into a jar is for my own convenience.
