It sure seems like "Design twitter" is till on twitter. Moving away was the right thing to do, but it has been isolating — lots of folks I worked in/admire in design never really moved over. And just got denied for a meetup/event night that asked for your X account on registration. Feels bad!

Very cool they went for it, but this misses the mark for me. The lighter arms/feet don't really work for me, and no allspark blue anywhere? Doesn't capture what I love about that original deco.

I get going with Tears first. It's the latest game and well-known/regarded, while still leaving some demanded characters/looks for later so they don't burn out in a single wave. That said, yeah, I'm waiting on a more traditional Link, mostly because I'm a big TotK hater.

These look fine, but…not very fun? Incredibly light on accessories when items are such a huge part of the games. Only one very non-expressive face. Missed opportunity for build-a-figure bosses or larger enemies. Feels very perfunctory. Hasbro not making a strong argument out of the gate here.

As an enormous Shovel Knight fan (I named my cat after a side character) it gives me no pleasure to say that I hated playing Mina the Hollower. It looks and sounds great but is deeply flawed in surprising ways given how much Shovel Knight understood its inspirations. I'm bewildered by the reception.

I love that FF7R makes it a part of the narrative, helping it stand as a supplementary work vs a “replacement”. I hope they stick the landing. Imagining an OoT that used the time travel mechanic to similar effect, putting it in conversation with the original. They won’t. But they should.

Not sure why you’re ascribing vitriol to me when that’s not something I said. Regardless of reason, they missed the look on it for me. That said there are plenty of examples of using incorrect reference, and this was a common mistransformation of the time, so it seems a fair question to pose.
