'tis the season of art prompt lists. i made my own list for OC-tober this year! 🎨 have fun with it. feel free to do as much or as little as you want, repeat the same prompts multiple times, combine with other lists, whatever is fun for you! #OC-tober #OC-tober2026 #OCsky

TITLE: OC-Tober Art Prompts
Description: it's OC-tober, the perfect excuse to spend the whole month drawing your
original characters. you can approach these prompts with whatever degree
of seriousness and effort you want. this isn't a legally binding list of obligations,
it's just ideas to get the gears turning!
the list: • finish an unfinished piece (maybe even more than one)
• design a new character, or finish an unfinished design
• rework a character design that needs some polish
• design a movie poster or a magazine cover
• draw a single-page comic or short storyboard
• draw your OCs in an alternate universe
• draw your OCs in another art style
• find a blank art meme/challenge to do
• draw something you find difficult, using your OC
• draw an OC at a different age than you usually do
• redraw a scene from a movie or TV show with OCs
• draw an OC cosplaying one of the characters that
inspired their design
• redraw a childhood drawing of an OC
• draw two OCs interacting who you haven't before
• play with alternate color palettes
Footnote: re-interpret however you want or combine with other lists! the only
rules are have fun, take care of your wrists, and don't use AI.

i read like half of this today and i'm just about to start part 2 and i have no idea where this is going yet??? i like the setting and the things it set up so far though and i have some Thoughts and Ideas™ about certain characters so i'm very curious how it'll end

Genuinely, this is what bothers me the most, it's fundamentally changed my relationship with art where I'm greeting it initially with skepticism and scrutiny, I never want to feel that way about art.

I had recently tried tackling extra stage when @azureflux.bsky.social asked if I wanted to draw Flandre for the newest song. I never get tired of drawing her so of course I agreed! 💖 #東方Project #フランドール・スカーレット #東方紅魔郷 #touhou

flandre scarlet from touhou project in her the embodiment of scarlet devil outfit, the background is reminiscent of her starbow break spell card.

Sketch of my OCs Dimitri and Alex in an intimate hug, Dimitri wrapping his arms around Alex’s waist while kneeling, Alex resting her hands on his shoulders. He looks up with adoration at her, resting his chin on her chest. Alex looks down and to the side, her eyebrows knitted together and a small smile on her lips as his blatant affection embarrasses her a little.

Finally got to decorate my room with OC art :3c Mostly art I received as gifts or commissioned, with a few of mine mixed in. Didn't have space for all or else I'd print every piece I've ever received 🤭 but I might print some more later and swap them out once in a while since putty is reusable 🤔

"They're not misunderstanding the film; they're co-opting a message"

Screencap from the interview linked in the quoted post

Marlow Stern (the interviewer): You have one of the most renowned replies in Twitter history. Elon Musk tweeted out, “Take the red pill,” then Ivanka Trump enthusiastically wrote, “Taken!” to him, and then you replied, “Fuck both of you.” I’m curious how you feel about the co-opting of “The Matrix” by those on the right who don’t really seem to understand its messaging.

Lilly Wachowski: I mean, I can’t sit in a room and explain the movie to every single person who watches it. Even if I did sit in a room with Elon Musk and Ivanka Trump — yikes — it doesn’t matter. They’re not misunderstanding the film; they’re co-opting a message. And that’s what fascists do: They co-opt the messages of progressives and use it to their benefit to confuse and obfuscate what is going on and the intention of their ideology. They do it with everything. They do it with Martin Luther King Jr. Look at how they’ve changed the idea of what antisemitism is.

Great thread and also: message folks and let them know when you're behind. Even if/especially if it's indefinitely People don't want to be forgotten about. They don't want to chase you. But having no updates or communication makes them feel really lost. It also makes you think about the commissions
