My daughter and I actively share an Amazon account, and it’s easy to pick out which of us is behind the various “About You” entries, but this one is slightly ambiguous…and it got me laughing.
From Amazon’s “About You” page:

Age yourself with a childhood crush.
The late-1970s Denver Broncos defense was nicknamed the Orange Crush.

I wasn't a fan, but they *were* a crush from my childhood.

DEER FORCE ONE!
Official State of West Virginia aircraft, registration N1WV, a blue-and-white King Air with gold trim, on the ramp in Roanoke (KROA) this morning.

The sky is a crisp, clear blue, and the Appalachian Trail’s famously photogenic McAfee Knob rises above the scene in the background, just forward of the aircraft’s tail.

The supine Superintendent [pic] was one of my NAPS ‘87 and USNA ‘91 classmates. I’ve decided to skip our 35th reunion this month. The reception would be at his official Academy residence. We also have a 4-star war-criminal classmate, ADM Mitch Bradley, of Caribbean boat double-tapping murder fame.

There’s no way those are legit data points if a 2.1km altitude change is being shown in 1 second. That’s Mach 6 straight down. Altitude-reporting & plots have noise and sampling errors in them. My own plane was shown spiking to 30,000+ feet and back earlier this summer due to an avionics glitch.
A time plot of altitude and speed for my plane when its encoding altimeter acted up recently and showed a nearly vertical climb from 10,000' to over 30,000 and then wandered around for awhile. At ATC request, I shut off the electronic system that reports altitude via radar and made verbal altitude reports until I landed. I immediately replaced the malfunctioning encoding-altimeter unit.

It was a sexy time.
An NCR Century mainframe in Lynchburg, Virginia. In the foreground, left to right, are a teletype, often used to enter hex codes; a control panel covered in dials, buttons, switches, and das blinkenlights and used for, among other things, booting and clearing memory errors in its CERAMIC ROD memory (addressable via mechanical hex-address dials); and a punch-card reader. In the background are two magnetic tape drives in non-NCR cabinets.
Our Century in Shenandoah County had two 655 disk-drive units to the right of the card reader rather than mag-tape units.

Now I want an ice-cream bear...um...bar.
The Klondike ice-cream-bar logo. It's a white polar bear walking atop the word KLONDIKE, also in white. There's a blue background above the word and surrounding the bear, contained under a zig-zagged arc stretching from the K to the E, perhaps meant to symbolize a midnight sun?

Coincidentally, my second Mooney, an '83 M20K/231, is now C-GNOM and based out of Springbank (CYBW), and I've seen it over this region of highway on many of its flights. :)
A terrain map with an aircraft flight track overlaid upon it. It shows a flight from Springbank Airport, near Calgary, Alberta, out over the eastern edge of the Canadian Rockies and the Trans-Canada Highway, and then back to Springbank.

I like the paint job--reminds me of how I repainted my old 231.
A 1983 Mooney M20K/231 in flight, landing gear retracted. It was registered as N3655H when I owned it, then re-registered as C-GNOM when I sold it to a Canadian gentleman who moved it to Calgary.

Two of my favorites--one from 1989 at NAS Kingsville, Texas when I got to fly a TA-4J as a Midshipman; the other from 2022 and the day I arrived home with my current Mooney. (Neither was taken by me.)
Me in an olive-drab flight suit, with a helmet under my arm, standing in front of a nose-on, orange-and-white Navy TA-4J, on a concrete ramp in Texas under a hazy blue sky. The plane's canopy is open, and there's a boarding ladder against it.A shot looking forward at a blue-and-white Mooney Ovation from its port quarter. It's parked on an airport ramp under an early-evening, scattered-cloud sky. The sun is about to set beyond the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance, just to the right of the plane's tail. There's a warm, orange "golden-hour" glow in both the sky and reflected on the ramp's asphalt. And electric tug is parked in front of the nose of the plane, prepared to tow it to a parking spot.

Similarly, on an iPhone there are some top-level AI toggles, but to really turn it off you have to go into the configuration settings for each individual app and turn it off there. For some reason, this comes to mind....

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy describes the Marketing Department of the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation as: "A bunch of mindless jerks who'll be the first against the wall when the revolution comes."

Curiously, an edition of the Encyclopedia Galactica which fell through a rift in the time-space continuum from 1000 years in the future describes the Marketing Department of the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation as: "A bunch of mindless jerks who were the first against the wall when the revolution came."

I like having a beard--I just wish it weren't where most of my grey has decided to collect! I don't have much in my hair--temples, mostly. So I keep the beard trimmed short to at least minimize it. :)
