My adult child spritzed Poppy with water to help her stay cool aaaaand today we learned that Poppy does not like this and that she holds a grudge. She communicates her dislike by looking really sad every time the offending party walks into the room. (Fortunately grudge can be fixed with a walk.)

Always interesting to note at what point the responses to a post get weird, and today's answer seems to be 647.

And a response that says, "Oh my goodness, that's a real problem that needs solving immediately. A woman walking down the street getting complimented by strangers should be a daily occurrence, not a reason for panic."

Poppy has officially become a couch dog. She is the clumsiest dog I've ever seen getting on and off of the couch, but once she's there she's home.

Fortunately we got in a walk for Poppy during a brief less smoky period this morning, but for most of the day the air quality has been terrible throughout the East Bay. Not sure why a prescribed burn was scheduled for a hot day, again. 😷🥵

She spent the rest of our walk circling me to try to get us back to the cat yard and then somehow found the same cat a block from where it had been before, under a car? Then she sat patiently waiting for the cat to come out and say hi. (It did not.)
