I just have to pointlessly exult. Yesterday, I figured out how to make 32 at a time HSTs. It was so easy! They were so accurate! I saved so much fabric and time! Whoohoo! #quiltsky

Summer 2022 I joined this marvelous fandom. It isn’t dead. A series might end, but fandom lives on. It’s in the art, fics and friendship that is made through it. Some might steer away, but there is a bit of it still there. Me? I’m a lifer. Thank you to all the talented folks who keep creating. 🌈🏴‍☠️❤️🥹

I Go Down To The Shore I go down to the shore in the morning and depending on the hour the waves are rolling in or moving out, and I say, oh, I am miserable, what shall— what should I do? And the sea says in its lovely voice: Excuse me, I have work to do. Mary Oliver, A Thousand Mornings: Poems

I did a thing that I am rather bad at yesterday. I picked flowers & made a bouquet. The result is messy and I like it because I did it almost All By Myself. (My friend and I went to a pick-your-own place. Thankfully, she has a real eye for floral design & guided me gently to this.) Central PA, USA

A bouquet of inexpertly curated flowers. It's a little wild and messy.

In celebration that we're grownups in our new forever home, we bought a white couch. In celebration of cat perversity, our void immediately claimed it as his own. Please note that he never slept on the old (dark) sofa. I'm looking for a new quilting pattern for a quick couch throw #cats #quilting

#TakeTwoTuesday! I really love this story - please give it a go if you're in the mood for some very silly adventures, Ed blundering his way into parenthood, Stede getting to cosplay all his Hollywood pirate dreams, a curseless velvety suit, a heap of time-travel drama, & a sprinkling of 1717 FLIP 🥰💖

A Bit of Whimsy
Roberta Seaport (Deepdarkwaters)

Summary:
Arts and crafts day goes extremely awry when Stede, Alma, Louis, and Lucius are somehow pulled from 2025 into the old oil seascape they embellished together. Unfortunately, what they added to the waves was a 1717 pirate battle surrounded by vicious hungry sea monsters.

Now Stede's the captive of a mouldy maniac, spared from threats of gruesome torture only as long as he keeps sharing all the Mozart and Bach he can remember from the future, while Lucius and the kids were saved from becoming sabre-toothed shark poo by the crew of the legendary Blackbeard, who is really nothing like the stories.

Sometimes you find your family in very unexpected places. And sometimes a mutiny and a velvety suit help.

I'm feeling virtuous. I finished this Christmas present a few days ago. Table runner, 14" x 46." I double-shadow quilted* both sides of each seam. The metallics don't especially pop in the pictures; it looks niftier in person. * Is this the correct term? parallel stitching outlining an element?

I made a pretty ugly table runner and I have proof. I've used the pattern with different fabrics and I've used the fabrics with a different pattern. The problem is _this_ pattern with _those_ fabrics. Sigh. The quilting came out well at least. #craftiverse #handmade #quiltsky

The ugly table runner. Busy fabrics fighting to be seen.

Same pattern as ugly runner. The colors let your eye roam around without feeling assaulted.

The same busy fabrics of the ugly runner in a different pattern. There's enough negative space for the busyness.

The quilting on the ugly runner. Simple but interesting.
