This rather unappealing mess is all of the crab shells I’ve been saving from the crabs my husband has caught this fall. I’m going to boil it down to make crab stock, which I’ll then use to make a wonderful crab soup. 😀

Our wobbly former gas station employee Kickstand is ready to find his own forever home! He has a mild case of cerebellar hypoplasia (“CH”), which gives him a cute high-stepping gait & sometimes he falls over when he gets too excited. He doesn’t have any problems eating or w/litterbox! bit.ly/4cOmi21

An Angel food cake with an orange drizzle as a thank you to our neighbor, who helped us when my my husband wrecked his car yesterday. My husband is fine but the car is toast & our neighbor went and got our boat (on a trailer) from the accident scene this morning. I don’t have a tow bar. Very kind.

Last week I used my executive authority to ban nonferrous mining in the Boundary Waters. Minnesotans have watched nervously as lawmakers and regulators have wrestled over whether or not to allow this beautiful place to be spoiled. I’m proud to say that uncertainty is over.

Apollo was laying by the fence but the sun went away so, he moved 🤔 I read (yes, chinchillas can too read!) that dogs can regulate their body temperature laying in the sun. Also, the serotonin release the sunshine provides is beneficial 🌞 He always has nice cool fresh water waiting 🥤

Just snuck away from my desk (working from home) and put a large pork butt in the crockpot on a bed of onions. I topped it with a can of Rotel, set on low for 4 hours. When tender we’ll shred and use for pork bbq, enchiladas or tacos. 😀
