Thanks for having me today @qldgamesfestival.bsky.social I had a blast running my narrative #ttrpg "You'll Meet the Devil at a Crossroads". I had a full table from 9am to 5pm - sometimes with a queue! What a rush, such a thrill! It's love to come back again next year and do it all again!

Had a great time running YMTD at TableTopCon on the Gold Coast today!! Very happy players 💜 My 10 year old played for the first time and ended up being a mutineer! Thanks to @long-tail-games.bsky.social for selling me these zine RPGs too 💜 one by @ehronlime.bsky.social and the other by Stoo Goff.

Got this for my wife for Christmas. We've been playing a bit of it - heaps of fun and quite a challenge. It is billed as "every move you make is a trade off where you have to give something to your opponent" - no move is ever safe or easy. Both simple and complex and really good fun.

Today we had 6 different #ttrpgs running at Neon Brisbane 2026, now in its third year running. Although this was smaller than prior years, we all had a great amount of fun! A great free event for locals - we had both old hands plus a few people who had never played a tabletop RPG before!

I knew this would become a thing. Blood Blowl (aka the greatest game ever made) is back in my house - the kids are loving it and so am I. Realised that we have about 8 or 9 teams, including all my very very old teams. Going to start a family league. They are all busy painting miniatures.

Oppian Wives #ttrpg is smashing along now I've cleared some mental hurdles. Need to validate art truly is public domain, and formatting things. Art will have HEAVY mods, these are classical paintings to be messed with. Rules bits by me, then Tory does her bits in the ancient history / background.

Last private playtest of Oppian Wives #ttrpg ahead of public games at Go Play. Drawing on Drama System and Belonging Outside Belonging (and its roots in PbtA) where the women of Rome explore, exploit, and ally with each other to achieve their ends. Their agents (men) do the dirty work for them.

Playbook for Oppian Wives 'The Foreigner' - a woman who is not Roman, operating in Rome. She is the outsider in Roman society, but can also get away with things that 'traditional' Roman women cannot.

Her two Agents (men), include her two lovers - a merchant and a street robber. She uses them to take direct action against the issues across the city which impact her.

Tonight I got to play Grok #ttrpg thanks to GM @beerforall.bsky.social Grok is a super rules light, incredibly fun, and has amazing art!! We escaped war between two dimensional armies, teleported through magic doors, fought a monster in a sewer, then rode to victory on the back of a dinosaur!!

Sometimes in #TTRPG design we gloss over all the ugly bits. This is my big ugly mess. I celebrate it. All designs start out bad. Keep going. Oppian Wives has gone through its first post-playtest do-over and is now undergoing the second round of kicking and shoving before the next playtest.

Wow yes that is beautiful. I've been using GMIC (it's "procedural" not "AI") in Affinity Photo on public domain pieces lately for Oppian Wives. It allows me to get a stylised view. (I'm still not good with it yet) For instance - this is "conferring the toga". Image credit in alt text.

Great day today at Netherworld, Brisbane Australia playing #TTRPGs. The theme was "Post Apocalyptic" so we had some easy choices. We had one table playing Apocalypse World, the other table played two shorter games: Decaying Orbit and Ech0.
