I probably would’ve had to stop working without the National Migraine Centre’s help - they gave me access to the medication I needed while I waited > 1 year for NHS help. Please help them if you can.

It’s completely unworkable to put the onus on reviewers to track down the veracity of references in a paper. And references are crucial for establishing lineage of thought, among other reasons. Substantial penalties as disincentives is the only way to ensure the literature is not swarmed with crap
