When I moved to Ohio for 10 years, 1986 to 1996, it was purple. The senators were Democrats John Glenn and Howard Metzenbaum, the governor was Dick Celeste. Twice, Ohio voted for Bill Clinton. Even in 2008, Ohio voted for Barack Obama, and was extremely close between Kerry and Bush in 2004.
